Day 3: 12 / 12 / 2009

Hello earthlings,

Today, our day started with visitors from the United States, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, The Netherlands and of course Belgium. Many came with the good people of the Will Steger Foundation. Will Steger himself visited us and gave a very eye-opening presentation about his expeditions and way of thinking. Some of the things he discussed was the melting of the sea ice mainly in the summer and the disappearance of Larsen’s A and B iceshelves, which of course has a major impact on our future. Indigeous peoples see the icebear as a mirror for themselves and concluded that if the icebear is moving on thin ice, so is humanity. The icebear can’t change their environment but we as humans can and should take action now! For a new economy he mentioned alternative solutions like solar biomass, wind, geothermo and hydro energy. We want to thank Will Steger for the inspiration and wish him all the best in his future projects! Visit his website, it’s filled with usefull information and accessable to all.

Afterwards, we joined the demonstration with 100.000 other people who were looking for a way to change the world into a better place for future generations. Words can’t discribe the feeling, but the pictures speak for themselves.
